The manifesto, is to create a new radical system in which to create affordable, accesible homes, new types of employment and new interactions between neighbours. Following on from many of the ideas explored in the "take two eggs" project regarding waste, organsim and ritual, this project looks at waste of the city at the larger scale. Much of the city’s waste goes to independant removal companies to then be recycled or dumped. This new regime creates new “sorting shops”.
These sorting shops take a lead from other forms of rubbish disposal, where much rubbish goes to the street and is re-used by others or collected by the council or “scrap-man”. These sorting shops will be located in free derilict spaces at street level, they will be occupied by workers sorting re-useable materials for which to construct modules for living which will be situated on the rooftop of the existing building. The Modules will form colonies housing many varieties of people, those from the previously homeless to the young professional. |
